As part of a developing area of specialized training, SIRT welcomed virtual production visionaries Joe Lewis and Isaac Partouche for a full day workshop on virtual production workflow for visual effects (VFX).

Joe and Isaac led more than 70 members of Ontario’s screen industry through discussions and case studies of their respective real-time tracking VFX previz solutions, Encodacam and Solid Track, both leading-edge tools found on major international feature film sets. Both presenters discussed technical challenges and considerations, and offered a range of on-set examples from films like I, Robot, Oz:

The Great and Powerful, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Participants experienced SolidTrack at work in real time through an extensive hands-on demonstration.
